Mexia was created on a January day in 2006 in the beautiful Oxfordshire town of Henley-on-Thames, home to the world famous rowing Regatta.
After working in journalism, technology PR and in-house marketing, our founder, Kursha Woodgate returned to the UK from the Netherlands (via Italy first, that’s another story!) and was quickly offered a job for a branding agency running their PR division.
With an offer on the table, two small children to raise and a husband whose work took him far and wide around the world, Kursha sat back and thought ‘It’s time I built something for the longer-term’ – and Mexia was born.
Knowing it would always be more than just freelancing, Kursha embarked on her mission to build a quality agency, specialising in the events sector, true to Mexia’s core values of quality content, ethical practice and creative flair. Within a year, the first Mexian joined the team.
By 2016, as Mexia celebrated its 10th anniversary, the team and client portfolio has continued to grow. The awards cabinet is groaning under our 10 accolades and there are new chapters only just beginning…
