Friday, November 30th, 2012ABPCO has joined forces with event communications company Max Wi-fi to create a white paper entitled “What events must ask their venues about Wi-fi”. The paper, initially available to ABPCO members, follows the PCO (Professional Conference Organiser) wi-fi check list created by ABPCO in February this year as part of ABPCO’s Conference Cloud Campaign calling for free wi-fi for conference delegates.
ABPCO launches TechNOphobia workshops for PCOs
Friday, July 6th, 2012ABPCO has today launched a series of workshops aimed at providing practical insights into events technology for PCOs. Branded ‘TechNOphobia’, the workshops are designed to provide hands-on experience of using a wide variety of apps, smartphones and tablet devices to enhance delegate experience and audience interaction. The first workshop will be held at the ICC Birmingham on July 12th and will focus on iPad audience interaction tools, presented by app specialist firm Technology4Events.
ABPCO appoints first corporate member to new exec

The new executive committee includes a corporate member representative for the first time in the Association’s history. Representing ABPCO Corporate Members ACC Liverpool, BT Convention Centre Head of Sales Kerrin MacPhie has been appointed to represent the interest of the Association’s Corporate Members. Headlines catch your eye. They are designed to. With startling words that conjure up a mental image of the story they convey in just a few syllables, headlines are powerful stuff.
Like a shop front on the high street, editors have a limited window of opportunity to catch the eye of the casual reader, to stun them into pausing for long enough to engage, to read on.
When writing your press releases or articles to raise the profile of your event, bear in mind the hundreds, even thousands, of stories and releases sent to editors each day. If you want your stories to stand out, to catch their eye, then give them the hook in a few words. Couple the right editorial style with a strong story and you will make the editor’s job easier.
