Mexia shortlisted for MIMA Award!

Wednesday, September 12th, 2012

We are proud to announce that Mexia has been shortlisted for the ‘Best Use of Budget’ category at the forthcoming 2012 MIMA Awards (Meetings Industry Marketing Awards) to be held on the 1st October at The Brewery in London. The MIMA Awards, launched in 2002, are organised by Meetings and Incentive Travel magazine to ‘raise the standards of marketing in the meetings and events industry’.

We have been shortlisted for the ‘Best use of Budget’ category for our work on ABPCO’s conference cloud campaign. The campaign, launched in August last year, was met with great support throughout the industry, with the support of 200 petition signatories and rapid sign-ups for various venues. The campaign is still successfully expanding, celebrating its first anniversary in August in time with the signing of ICC Birmingham, a significant development for the campaign.

Commenting on the achievements, Mexia Communications Managing Director Kursha Woodgate said: “The MIMA awards are very prestigious and recognised throughout the industry for marketing excellence; we are utterly thrilled to have been shortlisted.”

We are very much looking forward to the event and are all excited to hear of the final results. Kursha will be attending the event on the 1st October, along with new recruits Chris Penfold and Imogen Eaton, so if you are attending, do feel free to come and say ‘hi’ and wish us luck!  (To find out more about the awards click here.)

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

Article written by Kursha Woodgate and published on the Exhibition News Blog

As Harry Potter and the Chronicles of Narnia battle it out at the Christmas Box Office, I am given to thinking of just how much magic a solid marketing effort can conjure up.

Whenever I have presented on the topic of marketing at event trade exhibitions such as International Confex and Event UK, I am usually asked to focus on ‘budget marketing’ and how to get the most for your money.
