New partnership for Poken and ExCel London

To communicate a new partnership between Poken UK and Excel London and manage all media interest in the story.

The Result

Following an initial consultation with the Poken UK Director, Mexia produced a press release on the partnership, including quotes from Poken UK and Excel London. Mexia then sent the press release to over 300 international MICE media publications in our database. The press release achieved coverage on 15 international MICE and technology websites to date with a media value of over £81,315 and expectation for that number to grow as the monthly publications are printed at the end of the month.  There was a strong interest in the story, particularly in the UK with no negative coverage to date. Coverage reached over 620,513 consumers, namely meeting and event planners, worldwide and a social media reach of 94,299 Twitter users.

About the Client

Poken uses Near Field Communication (NFC), to enable event visitors to meet, connect and collect digital information via its Poken device. Visitors can swap digital business cards and collect rich digital content all at a touch which can then be assessed post event via  a secure branded web portal. Poken reduces the need for printed collateral at events, can be integrated into social media such as Twitter and Linkedln, increases participation and engagement and offers organisers a suite of reporting tools to understand activity from the event.
