i2 Office teams up with Dayoffice Card to provide offices by the day

i2 Office announced today that it has joined the newly launched Dayoffice Card programme and will offer office space within all of its business centres on a pre-paid or pay-as-you-go basis.

The scheme provides ultimate flexibility for small businesses and sole traders to book office space from between 2 and 22 days per month, without any on-going or long-term commitment.  The purchased ‘days’ can then be redeemed at any of the 150 business centres that are included within the Dayoffice Card programme across the UK. In early 2012 this will be extended to business centres across the US and Australasia.

Aldersgate, announced at the end of August.

Space at i2 Office Aldersgate has been snapped up by a wide range of businesses, from PR firms to financial companies and telecoms specialists, keen to take advantage of the centre’s prime location and prestigious interior.

i2 Office appoints new GM for Greenwich

i2 Office continues to expand its team with the appointment of Mark Gregson as General Manager for its Greenwich business centre at 6 Mitre Passage.  Mark joins i2 Office with almost a decade of experience in the serviced office sector in sales and sector specific recruitment.  Mark joins i2 Office from Regus, where he held various sales roles across the south of England over a five and a half year period, most recently as Area Manager, City.

i2Office Glasgow welcomes Informatics-CIS to its flourishing centre

i2 Office Glasgow continues to attract some of the region’s leading businesses to its new serviced office centre at 2 West Regent Street.  The latest company to take space in the centre is Informatics Clinical Information Systems Ltd.  One of the attractions for the company was the ease of access to  dedicated bandwidth and the flexibility to increase size of the bandwidth as and when required combined with a guarantee of sufficient external ports.

ABPCO introduces awards at 25th Anniversary conference – call for nominations

ABPCO today announces that it plans to launch a new set of special awards at the gala dinner of its forthcoming 25th anniversary annual conference in London, January 25-27th 2012. The awards represent an important element of the celebrations planned by the Association for its 25th anniversary next year, with a series of other special announcements lined up throughout the calendar. ABPCO is now calling for nominations, which close on January 11th, 2012.

The Awards will recognise ‘outstanding contribution to the professionalisation and achievement of excellence in the Conference and Events industry’.

The award categories are as follows:

ABPCO Award for Academic Achievement in Event Management Studies

Awarded to a student who has, through their academic work, provided further research or insight into our industry. Or through a work placement or similar been responsible for innovative or best practice in operational delivery.

ABPCO’s One to Watch

Awarded to an individual who has, through the early years of their career, made a wider contribution to our industry. Or through day-to-day work, been responsible for innovative or best practice in operational delivery.

ABPCO Lifetime Achievement Award

Awarded to an individual who has, through their own professional practice or their contribution to wider industry, brought about a step-change to the professionalisation and achievement of excellence in our industry. ABPCO Chair Michael Foreman, said: “We are thrilled to announce that we will be presenting three special awards to three deserving individuals on the evening of our gala dinner. ABPCO are very excited about the plans for our next annual conference and 2012 is shaping up to be our best conference yet. We would encourage the whole of the conferencing industry to join us on this special occasion and get a taste of the new ABPCO at the dawn of our next 25 years.”

Additional tickets have been made available to extend the event beyond those attending the conference to join the celebrations and mark the start of ABPCO’s Silver Anniversary year. The two-day conference, to be held at the Barbican with the opening social reception hosted by the Ironmongers Hall, will be themed ’25 years: Past, Present & Future’ and will celebrate ABPCO’s long-standing history of excellence in the conferencing sector as well as looking to the future of the industry.

PCOs and venues agree need to define free Wi-Fi for delegates at basic level

PCOs, venues and suppliers attending the debate on free Wi-Fi for conference delegates as part of ABPCO’s Conference Cloud campaign on the whole agreed that there is a need for ‘free Wi-Fi for delegates at a basic level’ and that venues need to define what ‘basic’ means for them.  A list of key delegate requirements for Wi-Fi access was drawn up during the discussion and a draft list was created of key qualifying questions that need to be answered, by clients, PCOs and venues regarding their specific Wi-Fi requirements for an event.

i2 Office to open in Manchester

i2 Office is set to establish its first North West presence with a new business centre in Chancery Place, the recently completed Grade A  building  ideally situated close to King Street in  central Manchester.  i2 Office has taken approximately 15,000sq ft across two floors in the 14 storey building for its new business centre, affording excellent views of the Manchester skyline.  Fit out of the new centre is already underway with an official opening planned for early 2012.
